Abortion in China

Abortion is when a woman decides to stop her pregnancy and not have a baby. In China, the government has rules about how many children families can have. This is called the "One Child Policy" where each family can only have one child.

Sometimes, if a woman gets pregnant again after having one child, she might decide to have an abortion because she doesn't want to have another baby and break the rules. This is called "selective abortion." It means she's choosing to not have a baby because it's not allowed by the government.

There are also cases where women might have an abortion for medical reasons, like if the baby is very sick and may not live. This is called a "therapeutic abortion."

In China, abortions are legal and widely available, and many women choose to have them. However, it's important to remember that abortion is a sensitive and serious decision, and it's important to have support and guidance when making this choice.
