Abri de la Madeleine is like a house that was built a really long time ago by people who lived in caves. The house is actually a small shelter made of rocks and dirt. It is called an Abri because it means shelter in French.
The people who built this house were called the Magdalenians and they lived there almost 20,000 years ago during a time we call the Stone Age. They were hunters and gatherers who relied on the resources around them to survive, like animals for food and plants for medicine.
Inside the Abri de la Madeleine, the people would have had a fire to keep warm and cook food. They would have slept on the ground, and used rocks and tools to make things like clothes, weapons, and tools for hunting.
Today we can visit the Abri de la Madeleine and see what it looks like. We can also learn about the people who lived there a long time ago, and how they survived in a very different world than we know today.
