Abrogation of old covenant laws means when God decided to end a particular agreement that He had made with people in the past. It is like God decided that this agreement was no longer working and He made a new one. In the Bible, God made an agreement called the Old Covenant with the people of Israel which set out the laws of how they should live, what was right and wrong, and the punishments for not following the laws. When Jesus came, God decided it was time to end the Old Covenant and replace it with a new one. The new agreement is called the New Covenant and it tells us that now, through Jesus, we all have a chance to have our sins forgiven and be reunited with God, something that was not possible in the Old Covenant.
