Academic imperialism

Academic imperialism is when one country or group of people takes control of another country's universities or colleges. It's like a conqueror coming in and taking over a country. It might involve changing some of the ways classes are taught or what kind of research is done. It might also involve changing the rules and regulations of the universities or colleges. Academic imperialism usually happens because the conquering group wants to spread their ideas and the culture of their own country.
