Acceptable loss

Acceptable loss means something bad has happened, but it's not so bad that it's an emergency. Imagine a soccer game - maybe one team scored a goal and the other lost the game. Even though they lost, if they had a great game and they tried hard, it's an acceptable loss. They can try again and do better next time.
