ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Risk assessment

Risk Assessment is how people measure the chances of something bad or dangerous happening. It involves looking at something and figuring out how likely it is to cause an injury, damage, or illness. For example, if you're considering going on a part of a hike that is known to have dangerous terrain, you'd want to look at the risks and decide if it's safe to take the hike. You might look at how steep the mountains are, how deep the water is, or how slippery the path is. By doing a risk assessment, you can determine how risky it is and make a safe decision.
