Global catastrophic risk means a very bad event that could happen in the world and could cause bad things to happen to people or to nature. It could be a natural disaster like an earthquake, a huge fire, or a hurricane. It could also be a man-made disaster like an nuclear accident or a war. Basically, it means a really bad thing that could happen and cause a lot of destruction.
