Holocene extinction

Holocene Extinction is when lots of different plants and animals have gone extinct, which means they no longer exist. Holocene is a period of time which started around 12000 years ago and is still going on, so this means lots of creatures have gone extinct over this period of time. This is mostly because of humans - we hunt animals, cut down forests and pollute the environment, all of which makes it hard for animals and plants to survive. This can also happen naturally, like when the environment changes and it's too hard for certain plants and animals to cope.
