ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Acknowledge character

Okay, so acknowledging a character means that you're like saying "hello" or "I see you" to that character in a story or movie. It's a way of showing that you know they're there and paying attention to what they're doing. Just like when you wave to someone or give them a high-five to show that you noticed them. When we acknowledge a character, it can also help us understand the story better because we can see how they fit into it and what role they play. So, it's kind of like saying "hi there, I see you and I'm interested in what you're doing!" to the character.
