ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Acting coach

An acting coach is someone who helps actors get better at their job of pretending to be someone else on stage or in a movie. They help the actor understand the character they are playing and what they are feeling or thinking in each scene.

An acting coach might help the actor with things like how to use their voice and body to show the emotions of the character. They might also help the actor with memorizing lines, practicing a scene over and over again until they get it just right, and getting into character before going on stage or in front of the camera.

Think of an acting coach like a teacher who helps you get better at a sport or a musical instrument. They are there to support and guide you, and help you improve your skills so that you can do your best work.
