ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Admiralty code

Okay kiddo, so admiralty code is basically a set of rules and laws that apply to boats and ships when they are out on the ocean. Just like how we have rules for cars when we drive on the road, boats and ships have rules to follow too, so that they can be safe and not bump into each other or run into problems like getting lost or sinking.

These rules include things like how fast boats can go in certain areas, which direction they should be traveling, and what types of lights they should have on at night so that other boats can see them.

There are also special courts called admiralty courts that deal with legal issues related to boats and ships, like accidents or disputes between crew members or passengers. These courts follow the admiralty code to make decisions and solve problems.

So, just like how we have rules and laws to keep us safe on the road, boats and ships have rules to keep them safe on the ocean!
