ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Aerial Image Library

An aerial image library is like a big collection of pictures taken from way up high in the air. These pictures are taken by airplanes or drones, which are like big flying cameras that take pictures of the ground from high above.

Imagine you are playing with a toy car on the floor and you look up, way up to the ceiling. The aerial image library takes pictures of what everything on the ground looks like when you are way up there looking down from the ceiling.

The library collects all these pictures of different places and keeps them stored in one place so that people can look at them later. People can use the pictures to see what different places look like from above, like cities, forests, farms, and oceans.

These pictures can be used for lots of different things, too. If someone is planning to build a new building or road, they can look at the picture to see what the land looks like and how they can plan better. Scientists can also use the pictures to learn about the environment and how it changes over time.

So, an aerial image library is like a treasure trove of pictures taken from high up in the sky that helps different people to learn and plan things better.
