Affective design

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen a toy that made you feel really happy? Or a book that made you feel scared or excited? That's because of something called affective design!

Affective design is when people design things like toys, books, or even phones to make you feel a certain way. Designers want you to have a certain emotion or feeling when you use their product.

For example, they might design a toy to make you feel happy, a book to make you feel scared, or a phone to make you feel excited. They use colors, shapes, and even sounds to create a feeling or emotion.

It's kind of like making a cake. Just like bakers add ingredients like sugar and spices to make a cake taste a certain way, designers add things like colors and sounds to make a product feel a certain way.

So, affective design is when designers make things that make you feel happy, excited, scared, or any other emotion they want. It's a way to make things more fun and enjoyable!
