Affiliate marketing

Okay kiddo, so do you know how sometimes you see a grown-up person on YouTube or Instagram talking about a really cool product, and then they tell you where you can buy it and give you a special code to get a discount? Well, that grown-up person is part of something called affiliate marketing.

Basically, companies that make products or services really want people to buy them. So, they ask other people (like YouTubers or bloggers) to help promote their stuff. Those people become affiliates, which means they get a special link or code to share with their fans. When someone buys something using that link or code, the company gives the affiliate a little bit of money as a thank-you.

It's kind of like when someone tells their friends about a great new toy they got, and their friends ask where they got it. If the toy is from the store down the street and that friend goes to buy it too, the store is happy to get a new customer and might even give the first person a little thank-you gift for sending their friend over.

Affiliate marketing is just like that, except it happens online and the thank-you gift is usually money instead of a toy or candy. It's a way for people who like certain products or services to share them with others and make a little bit of money on the side.
