Age of Earth

The Earth is very, very old. Scientists use special tools to figure out how old the earth is but it's a tricky job!
Basically, they look at the rocks and other things inside the Earth and measure how old they are. Then, they add up all those ages to find out how old the Earth is.

Scientists think that the Earth is around 4.6 billion years old. That's a lot of years! That's like, if you were to stack 4.6 billion pennies, it would go all the way to the Moon and back about six times!
