Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights

Agreement on trade-related aspects of intellectual property rights (TRIPS) is an agreement between countries to protect intellectual property (IP). Intellectual property includes things like ideas, inventions, and creations, just like the type of things you can get patents or copyrights for. TRIPS helps countries agree on rules to make sure that these ideas, inventions, and creations are protected. It also makes sure that countries follow those rules, so that the people who took the time and energy to create something don't get their ideas stolen or copied without permission or credit.
