ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Ahruf

Ahrufs are like different ways to read a book. Have you ever seen someone read a book out loud and maybe they say the words a little differently than you do? That's because they might be reading it in a different "ahurf".

In the Quran, there are seven "ahrufs" which are like different ways to read and understand the same words. They were all taught and approved by Prophet Muhammad so they are all correct, but they have slight differences in pronunciation and even some differences in meaning.

Think of it like different accents or dialects when people speak the same language. Even though they might say the words a little differently, they are still communicating the same message. So, different people around the world can read and understand the Quran in different ahrufs, and all of them are valid ways to understand the holy book.
