Air Florida Flight 90

Okay, so once upon a time a long time ago in 1982, there was a big airplane called Air Florida Flight 90 that flew from Washington D.C. to another place called Fort Lauderdale.

But something very bad happened before the airplane could get to its destination. You see, it was a very cold and snowy day in Washington D.C. when the airplane was trying to take off from the airport. The ground was covered in snow and ice, which made it really hard for the airplane to take off.

The airplane tried to go up into the sky like it usually does, but something went wrong and it didn't go very high. It ended up crashing into a bridge that was over a river called the Potomac River.

The people who were inside the airplane were very scared and some of them even got hurt. Some people even died because of the crash.

Luckily, some brave people from the nearby area saw the whole thing happen and they jumped into the cold water to try and save the people who were in the airplane.

The rescue teams worked really hard to help everyone who was hurt or stuck inside the airplane. The whole world was very sad about what happened, but also really proud of the people who tried to help others in a tough situation.
