ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Air cargo

Air cargo is like when you pack your toys in a big box and your parents take the box on an airplane to another place. But instead of toys, air cargo can be things like food, clothes, or even cars that businesses want to send to other places around the world.

When businesses send their things by air cargo, they have to make sure they are packed really well and that they follow all the rules. Just like how you have to pack your toys nicely so they don't break, businesses have to make sure their things don't get damaged during the flight. They also have to follow rules about what they can and can't send on the airplane, like no dangerous materials.

Once the cargo is all packed and the rules are followed, it gets loaded onto the airplane. The airplane then flies to the place where the cargo needs to be delivered. Sometimes the cargo goes on a special cargo plane, and other times it goes in the bottom of a passenger plane where suitcases usually go.

When the airplane lands, people who work at the airport help unload the cargo and get it to where it needs to go. Just like how you always hug your parents when they come back from a trip, businesses are happy when their air cargo arrives safely at its destination!
