ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Al-Bayyina

Al-bayyina is an Arabic term that means evidence or proof. It is often used in Islamic context to refer to a specific verse in the Quran, which talks about the importance of evidence in proving the truth.

The verse says that those who reject the truth and don't believe in God's message will be punished, but those who believe in it and do good deeds will be rewarded. This is because they have enough evidence to believe in the truth and they act accordingly.

Think of it like this: Imagine you and your friend got into an argument about whether or not it's going to rain tomorrow. Your friend says "it's definitely going to rain" but you say "I don't think it will."

If your friend brings out a weather report that says there's a 90% chance of rain tomorrow, then that's evidence or al-bayyina that supports their argument. You might then agree with them and take an umbrella with you when you go out tomorrow.

In the same way, al-bayyina in Islamic context means having enough evidence and proof to support your beliefs and actions. It's important to seek out evidence and knowledge to strengthen your faith and make informed decisions.
