Al-lat is a goddess that people long ago believed in. She was worshipped in the Arabian Peninsula, which is a really hot and sandy place where people lived many years ago. It was said that Al-lat could protect people and bring them good things like rain and a good harvest.
People made special places for Al-lat where they could go and talk to her. These special places were called temples. People would bring presents like food and flowers to the temple and leave them there for Al-lat.
While some people believed in Al-lat for many years, eventually they stopped worshipping her. This happened because of new religions that came to the Arabian Peninsula that said there was only one god, not many.
