Albuminuria

Albuminuria is when your body has too much of a type of protein called albumin in your urine. It's a sign that your kidneys aren't working as well as they should, and it may mean that you have a serious health problem, like diabetes or high blood pressure. The way it works is that albumin normally stays in your bloodstream and helps keep the right balance of fluid in your body. When your kidneys don’t work as well as they should, the albumin leaks out into your urine. Doctors will check your pee to see if there is too much albumin, and if so, they can give you treatment to help you get better.
