Alchemical symbols

Hey there kiddo! Do you know what alchemy is? It's like magic mixed with science! People a long time ago believed that they could turn boring old metals like iron and copper into shiny, valuable things like gold. They also believed that they could create special potions and medicines that could cure any sickness or give them superpowers.

Now, to help them keep track of all the different things they were trying to make and the ingredients they needed, alchemists came up with special symbols to use on their notes and recipes. These symbols were kinda like secret codes that only other alchemists could understand.

Each symbol is meant to represent a different substance, like lead or sulfur or mercury. Some symbols look like letters from different languages, others are weird shapes and lines. And they're not just for common substances - there are even symbols for things like dragons, crowns, and the sun!

Even though alchemy isn't really practiced anymore, some people still love using alchemical symbols in art and jewelry. And you never know – maybe someday someone will discover the magic formula to turn lead into gold after all!
