Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test

So, you know how grown-ups sometimes drink this thing called alcohol? Well, drinking alcohol is okay as long as you don't have too much of it. But sometimes, when people drink too much alcohol, it can make them very sick, and this is called an alcohol use disorder.

To find out if someone has an alcohol use disorder, experts have made a special test called the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test, or AUDIT for short. This test asks questions about how much alcohol a person drinks, how often they drink it, and if they have any problems because of their drinking.

The test has lots of questions, but they're really easy to understand! Some of the questions might be like this:

- Have you had a drink first thing in the morning to calm your nerves?
- Have you had times when you ended up drinking more than you intended to?
- Have you had any problems at work or with your family because you drink?

By answering these questions honestly, people can find out if they might have an alcohol use disorder. If they do, don't worry! There is help available to get better and feel healthier.
