Alfred Rust was a scientist who lived a long time ago. He was one of the first people to study really small things called atoms. These atoms are so tiny that you can't see them with your eyes.
Alfred Rust found out that there were different kinds of atoms, and that they could join together to make other things. He called these things molecules. He also found out that when atoms joined together, they could make a lot of heat and energy.
Alfred Rust was really smart and he knew a lot about chemistry. He even made a tool called a spectroscope that could help him see the different colors of light that were given off by different molecules. This helped him figure out what was inside of things, like stars!
Even though Alfred Rust lived a long time ago, his work is still important for scientists today. They use his ideas to learn new things about atoms and molecules, and to make new things like medicines and technology. So, even though he's not here anymore, his work is still helping people all around the world.
