Alice Hamilton

Alice Hamilton was a lady who lived a long time ago and did something very important that helped lots of people. She was a doctor and a scientist who studied how chemicals and diseases can make people sick.

Alice was born in 1869 in a very big city called New York, and she grew up in a fancy house with her family. She was really smart and went to school for a long time to learn everything she needed to know about medicine and science.

When she was all grown up, Alice decided to help figure out why lots of people were getting sick and dying because of their jobs. She went to lots of different places, like factories and mines, and asked lots of questions. She wanted to know why people were getting really sick from their jobs and what could be done to keep them healthy.

Alice worked really hard and studied lots of things that lots of people didn't even know existed. She also wrote lots of books and wrote about her findings so that other smart people could learn from her too. She found out that lots of things were making people sick, like lead and mercury, and she worked really hard to try and make things safer for everyone.

Alice was a very special lady, because she cared so much about people and their health. She helped make sure that people could do their jobs without getting hurt or sick, and she made everyone feel important because they were. Alice Hamilton was a hero for keeping people healthy and safe, and we can all learn from her.
