Alter-globalization

Alter-globalization is a term used to describe people who are against the process of globalization, which is when different countries and cultures begin to come together and become more connected. The opposite of globalization is localization, which is when people and cultures stay more separate. People who are against globalization think it takes away peoples’ unique cultures and individuality, and causes a lot of harm to people and the environment because of things like corporate greed. Alter-globalization people don’t want to get rid of globalization completely, they just want to make a few changes so it’s safer, fairer, and helps people more. They want to make sure everyone has a say in how globalization is done, so that people and the environment aren’t harmed, and that everyone benefits from it, no matter what country they’re from.
