ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Alternative Employer Organization

So you know how sometimes grown-ups work for a big company, like a store or a restaurant, and the company takes care of things like paying the worker and giving them benefits like health insurance?

Well, sometimes there are groups of workers who don't want to work for a big company like that, because they don't think the company treats them fairly or gives them enough money or benefits. But they still want to work together and get those same things that a big company would give them.

That's where an alternative employer organization comes in. It's like a group of workers who work together and help each other out, but instead of being part of a big company, they have their own organization that takes care of things like paying them and giving them benefits. The workers get to have more say in how things are done, and they can work together to make sure everyone is treated fairly.

It's kind of like when you and your friends play a game together and make up your own rules, instead of playing by the rules that someone else made up. You still have fun, but you get to do things your own way!
