Ambitus

Ambitus is a Latin word that means the range of a musical pitch. It's like the highest and lowest notes that a singer or instrument can make. For example, a violin usually has a higher ambitus than a tuba. That's because the violin can make higher notes than the tuba. So the ambitus of a violin would be the range of notes it can make - from the highest to the lowest.
