Ampheck

Ampheck is a way of making sure that two people can communicate securely, without anyone else being able to listen in. It works like this:

First, each person needs a secret. It could be a number, a phrase or a code. They each keep this secret a secret from everyone else.

Next, each person does some math with their secret number. They use a special formula that creates a new, longer number, based on their secret.

Then, they each share this new number with each other.

Now they can use this new number to make sure that nobody else can listen in. Each time they want to talk, they will do the same math with their secret number and compare it to the number they got from their friend. If it matches, it means that nobody else has been listening in, and their conversation won't be heard. If it doesn't match, then it means someone else has been listening in and they have to start again.
