Anabaptists

So... do you know how when you take a bath and your mommy or daddy pours water over you? That's called baptism. Anabaptists were people a long time ago who believed that they should be baptized again as adults because they thought that the first time they were baptized as a baby, they didn't understand what it meant.

Anabaptists were Christians who thought that the church should focus on loving one another and following the teachings of Jesus, instead of being controlled by kings or governments. They believed that people should be free to worship and believe what they wanted, without being forced to follow a certain religion.

Because of their beliefs, Anabaptists were often persecuted and sometimes even killed for their faith. However, their ideas helped shape modern ideas about individual religious freedom and the separation of church and state.
