Donatists

Okay kiddo, let's talk about Donatists.

Back a long time ago, there were some people who believed in a certain way of practicing their religion called Christianity. These people were called Donatists.

The Donatists believed that only certain people should be allowed to be leaders in their church. They thought that these leaders needed to be very good and pure, and that if they were not, then they shouldn't be allowed to be leaders.

But other Christians at the time didn't agree with the Donatists. They thought that it was okay for people who had done bad things before to still be leaders in the church, as long as they repented and promised to be good from then on.

This disagreement caused a big argument between the Donatists and the other Christians. It was called the Donatist Controversy.

Many people were very upset about this argument, and it caused a lot of fighting and conflict between different groups of Christians.

So, to sum it up, the Donatists were a group of Christians who believed that only pure and good people should be leaders in their church, and this caused a big disagreement with other Christians.
