ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Analytic polyhedron

Okay, so imagine you have a big toy made of different shapes stuck together, like triangles, squares, and pentagons. This toy is called a polyhedron.

Now, let's say you want to study this toy and figure out some things about it using math. When you use math to study this toy, it's called analytic geometry.

An analytic polyhedron is a special kind of toy made of shapes stuck together that we can study really well using math. We can use something called coordinates to help us understand what it looks like, how big it is, and how it's shaped.

We can also use equations to describe this analytic polyhedron, like how many edges it has, how many corners it has, and how many faces it has.

It's kind of like how you use algebra to solve math problems in school. Except, instead of solving for x and y, we're solving for things like how many triangles are in the polyhedron.

So, an analytic polyhedron is a cool math toy we can study using special math tools like coordinates and equations to learn more about it!
