Anchor

An anchor is a heavy object that is used to stop a boat or a ship from drifting away. Imagine you are on a boat and you want to stay in one place in the water, but the water is moving you in different directions. You can drop the anchor into the water, and it will sink down to the bottom where it will grab hold of the ground.
