Ancient Near East

The Ancient Near East is a time and place a long, long time ago (we're talking thousands of years!) and it's where some of the earliest human civilizations were located. It includes areas that are now the countries of Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, and Turkey. People who lived there a long time ago built cities, invented writing, and established laws and governments. They also created some really incredible art and architecture. It's like looking back in time and seeing how people lived and worked back then.
