Angevin pound

The Angevin pound was a type of measurement used a long time ago to measure weight. It was first used in England during the rule of the Angevin dynasty, which began in the late 1100s.

To understand how much an Angevin pound weighs, you can imagine a big bag of sugar or flour. That bag would weigh about 1 pound if you went to a store and bought it today.

But a long time ago, when people used the Angevin pound, weight measurements were a bit different. An Angevin pound was actually a little bit heavier than a regular pound you might be used to. In fact, an Angevin pound was about 20% heavier than a modern pound. This means that if you weighed a bag of sugar or flour back then, it would be a little bit heavier than if you weighed it now.

The Angevin pound was used for a long time in England, and for a while it was the standard measurement for weight. But eventually, as weights and measurements became more standardized across countries, people started to use different systems. Today, most countries use a different type of measurement to weigh things, like the metric system.

So the Angevin pound is not used anymore, and most people today would not even know what it is. But it was an important measurement in the past, and it helped people to know how much things weighed and how much they could buy or sell for.
