ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Anna (feral child)

Okay kiddo, so we're going to talk about Anna, who was a feral child. A feral child is someone who has grown up without being around people, like how animals in the wild grow up without humans around.

Anna's story starts when she was born to a family who didn't want her. They kept her hidden away in a small room, which means she wasn't able to interact with people or learn language. Language is how we communicate with each other using words and sounds, and it's a really important part of being human.

Anna was eventually discovered when she was 6 years old, and she was very weak and undeveloped. She couldn't stand up or walk, and she didn't make any noises or gestures that could show that she understood other people.

After Anna was discovered, she was taken to a hospital where doctors and nurses took care of her. They tried to teach her language and how to communicate, but it was very difficult because she hadn't learned anything before.

Over time, Anna started to learn words and become more aware of the world around her. She learned how to stand up and walk, and she was able to make some sounds that showed she was trying to communicate. But because she missed out on so much learning during her early years, she never caught up to other kids her age.

So, Anna's story is a sad one, but it teaches us something important about how humans develop. We need love, care, and interaction with others to grow and learn. Without those things, it's really hard to be a healthy and happy person.
