Antimicrobial stewardship

Antimicrobial stewardship is like helping our bodies fight bad germs. You remember how we take medicine when we are sick and have high fever? That's right! That medicine is called an antibiotic. But antibiotics only work for certain types of sickness, and we have to take them exactly as the doctor says.

Antimicrobial stewardship is kinda like the rules we have to follow while taking antibiotics. We can't take more or less than what the doctor has prescribed, and we need to take it at the right time. This way our bodies can use the medicine to kill the bad germs and make us feel better.

Antimicrobial stewardship is important because when we use antibiotics too much or take them wrongly, our bodies become weaker against the sicknesses in the long run. We need to use antibiotics only when we really need them, and not use too much of them. This helps us fight off sicknesses better in the future.

Doctors and nurses have to follow very strict rules to make sure that we use antibiotics wisely. They have to check if we really need an antibiotic, which type of antibiotic we need, and the right amount we should take. Then, they keep a close eye on how well we're doing after taking the antibiotic. This way, we stay healthy and happy for a very long time!
