ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

gravitons

Gravitons are very special particles that scientists think help us understand why things like the moon, planets, and stars all move around instead of just floating in one place. They do this because gravitons act like glue, connecting objects together and making them move in relation to one another. That's why planets stay in their orbits around the sun. Gravitons also act like a type of energy that passes back and forth between objects, like when you push on a swing to make it go back and forth.
