ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Apache Kylin

Okay kiddo, Apache Kylin is a software tool that helps big companies make sense of all the information they collect. Imagine you have lots of Legos, all different colors and shapes - that's like the information these companies have. But they don't want to play with the Legos, they want to know what kind of buildings they can make with them.

Kylin helps them do that by putting all the Legos together in specific ways so they can build a house or a castle or a tower. Kylin is like a Lego sorter - it takes all the different pieces and puts them together so they make sense.

But instead of Legos, the information is called 'data', and instead of buildings, the companies want to know things like 'how many people bought our product?' or 'what was the most popular item in our store?'. These are things that are really helpful to know so the company can make good decisions about what to sell and how to sell it.

Kylin is a really helpful tool for people who work with data because it helps them make sense of it all and find the answers they need.
