Apprenticeship levy

When people start working, they learn new skills to make them better at their jobs. Sometimes, they learn these skills by working with someone who already knows how to do the job. This is called an apprenticeship.

The apprenticeship levy is a rule in some countries that says big companies need to pay some money to the government to help pay for people to do apprenticeships. This means that more people can learn new skills and get better at their jobs.

Imagine you have a big toy box full of toys. You like playing with your toys, but sometimes your friends come over and they want to play too. So, your mom asks you to share some toys with your friends. In the same way, the apprenticeship levy is like a big toy box for companies. They have to share some of their money with the government to help more people learn new skills and become better workers.
