Apu (god) is a god or spirit in some Indigenous cultures in Peru, Latin America and some parts of the United States. People believe that Apu is responsible for good things that happen, but also has the power to bring bad luck if insulted or disrespected. Apu's special job is to protect mountains, land, and its natural resources, like water, rocks and plants, and to bring good luck and happiness to those who honor and respect it. People often turn to Apu when they need help or if they have a blessing or a wish that they want fulfilled.
