ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Aramaic language

Aramaic is a very old language. It was used in the past by many people who lived in parts of the world that we now call the Middle East.

Aramaic is different than the languages we hear every day, like English or Spanish. It has its own alphabet and way of saying words.

Many people who spoke Aramaic were Jews, and they used it to write parts of the Bible, which is a big book of stories and lessons that many people around the world believe in. Some parts of the Bible that were originally written in Aramaic include the books of Daniel and Ezra.

Even though Aramaic is not as commonly spoken today, there are still some people who speak it. It is also important for people who study history and want to understand more about the past.
