Archaeological association

Archaeological association is like playing detective with really old stuff. You know how your parents tell you not to disturb things that have been lying around for a while? Well, archaeologists don't listen to that rule. They dig in the ground and move dirt around to find things that have been buried for a long time.

But you can't just find one thing and call it a day! No, archaeologists need to find a lot of things together to know more about what happened in the past. When they find a bunch of things together in the same spot it's called an archaeological association.

Like when you find all your Lego pieces in the same box, it's easier to figure out what you can build with them. Archaeologists use the different things they find together to figure out what was happening in the past. They can learn about how people lived their lives, what they ate, what kind of houses they lived in, and even how they died.

So, archaeological association is like finding a lot of old pieces to a puzzle and using them to figure out what happened a long time ago.
