Archaeometry

Archaeometry is basically using science to help us learn more about things from the past. Imagine when you visit a museum and you see all these really old things like pots or statues or even bones. Scientists can use special tools like microscopes, x-rays and chemicals to study these things and learn more about them. For example, they can look at the chemical makeup of the pots to figure out what they were used for or where they came from, or they can use x-rays to see inside bones to figure out what kind of animal they belonged to. Archaeometry helps us learn more about history and the people who lived a long time ago.
