ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Archdeacon

An archdeacon is like a helper for the boss, also known as a bishop. The bishop is like the big boss in charge of a bunch of churches. The archdeacon helps the bishop do his or her job by visiting and taking care of the churches in the bishop's area. They make sure everything is going smoothly and help solve problems that come up. The archdeacon is like the bishop's right-hand person, making sure things get done the way they should. It’s kind of like if you had a big homework assignment and your teacher asked another teacher to help you out and make sure you did it right.
