Hey kiddo! Have you ever heard of wine before? It's a tasty drink that grown-ups like to have sometimes. Well, a long, long time ago, in a place called Armenia, people made wine in a special place called the areni-1 winery.
The areni-1 winery was like a big room where people used to squish grapes (you know, those yummy round fruits that are usually purple or green) with their feet. When you squish the grapes, they give out a special juice called grape juice.
But the people in the areni-1 winery didn't stop there, they added a special ingredient called yeast to the grape juice. The yeast is like a tiny living thing that eats up the sugar in the grape juice and makes it turn into wine.
After they added the yeast, they put the grape juice in special jars made of clay, called amphora, and sealed them up with a special kind of clay (like when you play with playdough). They left the grape juice in these jars for a long time (about 2 months) and it slowly turned into wine.
The people in the areni-1 winery were some of the first people to make wine and they did it in a really special way. Scientists found out about the areni-1 winery and they were really amazed because it was such an old winery but the wine they made was still there!
So now you know about the areni-1 winery and how people a long time ago made wine in a special way. But remember, wine is only for grown-ups and even they drink it in moderation (that means they only have a little bit). Cheers!
