Argumentum a contrario

Argumentum a contrario means that you use the opposite of something to make a point. It's sort of like when you say "if this isn't true, then that is true". For example, if you know it's not raining outside, you can argue that it's sunny instead. So argumentum a contrario is using a reverse argument to prove something.
