Arnaud de Cervole
Arnaud de Cervole was a man who lived a very long time ago. He was born in a place called France in the year 1338. He was a knight, which meant that he was very brave and strong and had armor to protect him in fights.
He did some things that were not very nice. He would go around and rob people and take their things. He did this with his friends who were also knights. They were called "brigands" because they did bad things like this.
But one day, Arnaud did something that was even worse. He and his friends kidnapped a really important person. This person was a prince from a place called Catalonia. The prince's family was very upset and they wanted him back.
So, they came up with a plan to get him back. They offered Arnaud a lot of money in exchange for the prince's safe return. Arnaud agreed and gave the prince back.
But then, Arnaud did something really sneaky. He took the money and then kidnapped the prince again! This made the prince's family really mad and they wanted revenge. They sent a lot of soldiers to catch Arnaud and his friends.
In the end, Arnaud was caught and put in jail. He died there a few years later. Even though he did some bad things, it is important to remember that everyone can make mistakes and it's never too late to change and do better.
