ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Arndt–Schulz rule

Have you ever heard the saying "less is more"? Well, when it comes to medicine, sometimes that's true! The arndt-schulz rule says that the amount of medicine you need to help you is often related to how sick you are. If you're just a little bit sick, you might only need a tiny bit of medicine to feel better. But if you're really sick, you might need a lot more medicine to help you feel better. It's like a scale - the more sick you are, the more medicine you might need to balance it out and make you feel better. So, sometimes a small amount of medicine works best, and sometimes a big amount of medicine is necessary, depending on how sick you are.
